In our most recent interview, Julyana Al-Sadeq, one of the recipients of the Olympic Solidarity scholarship heading to Paris 2024, discusses the cultural obstacles she overcame to become the best in her sport and what it means to be an inspiration to young girls back home.
Julyana Al-Sadeq has achieved amazing success following her dismal attempt to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics, mostly due to the backing of Olympic Solidarity. She received a scholarship and went on to win gold twice at the Asian Championships, rank first in the world in taekwondo, and earn qualifying spots for Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
“When I heard of Olympic Solidarity’s assistance, I was ecstatic and flooded with thanks. For me, it’s been really remarkable,” Al-Sadeq remarked.
