After her incredible performance at the US Open three years ago, Emma Raducanu has had a difficult time on the WTA Tour.
Raducanu has suffered with numerous physical and fitness problems after her incredible success in New York, which has caused a decline in the WTA Rankings.
Due to her decline, she has been left out of several major events and now needs to rely on qualifying tournaments or wildcards in order to reach the majors.
With her wildcard spot secured for SW19, she will compete in the women’s main draw starting on July 1.
Earlier in the month, Raducanu advanced to the Nottingham Open semi-finals. In the last four, Katie Boulter, the top-ranked player in Britain, defeated her.
After the competition, she made the following statement: “I feel great. I went and did intervals after the game, and I felt powerful.
“I think I may play in the game tomorrow. I am well physically, just getting over a slight cold and bug.
